Want to help make Edmonton a more bike-friendly, connected, and joyful place? Whether you're a seasoned cyclist, a community builder, or just curious about what we do, there's a place for you on the Bike Bus Edmonton team. From ride leaders and outreach helpers to social media storytellers and event organizers — your time and talents can make a real difference.

on-the-ride Support

  • Pilot – Leads the group from the front, sets the pace, and regroups riders before crossings.

  • Sweeper – Rides at the back to make sure no one is left behind and everyone arrives safely.

  • Crossing Supervisor – Assists riders at crossings, then loops back to the front to help at the next one.

  • Joy Rider – Keeps the energy high and the vibes fun—music, cheers, and smiles encouraged!

  • Inclusion Rider – Supports riders with diverse needs, including transporting children with disabilities using adaptive bikes like cargo bikes, to ensure every child can participate safely and joyfully.

  • Backup Ride Leader – Ready to step in when another leader is absent, keeping the ride smooth and supported.

Community and Outreach

Spread the joy of the bike bus.

  • School Liaison – Connects with school staff to coordinate logistics and build support.

  • Parent Connector – Engages other families and helps build community around the ride.

  • Event Helper – Supports special ride days, celebrations, and info sessions.

Communications and Creative

  • Social Media Support – Shares stories, photos, and updates on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

  • Photographer/Videographer – Captures the joy and energy of ride days for outreach and promotion.

  • Graphic Designer – Designs posters, stickers, and digital content.

Strategic and Behind-the-Scenes

  • Legal/Policy Advisor – Provides guidance on liability, waivers, and best practices.

  • Fundraising & Sponsorship – Connects with local businesses or grant programs to support the initiative.

  • Data & Impact Tracker – Helps track participation and gather testimonials to show community impact.

  • Website/Tech Support – Maintains the website, manages forms, and supports digital tools.

Board of Directors or Committee

  • Officer / Director – Provides overall governance and guidance (President, Vice‑President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Directors‑at‑Large), supporting safety, accountability, and long‑term sustainability.

  • Finance Committee – Supports budgeting, donations, grants, and financial oversight to keep the bike bus running smoothly.

  • Governance Committee – Helps maintain clear policies, good decision‑making practices, and continuity as the bike bus grows.

Other Skills

  • Bicycle Mechanic – Help manage and maintain bike bus loaner and cargo bicycles.
